Panel event at the Karachi Literature Festival 2026 launching the EWA Handbook and sharing reflections on the value of archival projects.
At this KLF 2026 panel, members of PAWPE and the Editing Women in the Archives team Madeline Clements, Niilofur Farrukh, Tazeen Hussain, Veera Rustomji and Maniza Naqvi came together to launch the EWA handbook and discuss the urgency of archiving when it comes to the preservation of women’s words in print.
The panel was organised around five themes: setting the scene, including details on the project and origins; the archival research process, including experiences of archiving SHE and NuktaArt, and reflections from Maniza Naqvi as a writer and publisher involved in archiving through The Little Book company; the magazines’ design and visual development; archival findings and practice; and PAWPE and the future, including views on how collectives can sustain women’s writing and publishing today. It ended with audience Q&A.
